The Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and Nikolai Vinnichenko the Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Urals Federal District make a detour of the future facilities of the Northern latitudinal railway project.
Today the Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and Nikolai Vinnichenko the Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Urals Federal District began their two-day working visit to the Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomous District. During the first day of the visit Mr. Patrushev and Mr. Vinnichenko visited targets of the transportation hub Obskiy, got acquainted with the work of the station Obskaya (which is owned by the Russian Railways) and station Obskaya-2 (which belongs to Gazprom).
The Secretary of RSC and the Plenipotentiary of President of RF in the UFD listened to the report from Vyacheslav Tyurin the Director General of Gazpromtrans, about the plans of a significant increase in the accessibility of the station Obskaya-2.
The railway station Obskaya-2 is a part of the Northern latitudinal railway project, and will be completed by the investment program of Gazprom. The further increase of the accessibility of the station Obskaya-2 will provide the junction of the Northern latitudinal railway with the railway Obskaya - Bovanenkovo and further access to the Northern sea route through the universal port of Sabetta.
Nikolai Patrushev and Nikolai Vinnichenko appreciated the degree of maturity of the Northern latitudinal railway project and underlined its strategic importance in the development of the natural resources base of the Arctic region.The realization of Northern latitudinal railway project in the long term will ensure the industrial enterprises of the Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk Regions with business orders.
On the second day of the visit (the 24th of March 2011) the Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and Nikolai Vinnichenko the Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Urals Federal District are planning to hold a field meeting of the Secretary of Council Security of the Russian Federation in the format of the Council meeting under the guidance of the Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Urals Federal District on the question of additional measures to ensure the national security in the frames of the regional comprehensive investment project " Ural Industrial - Ural Polar ".
